How to secure the best mortgage deal for your new home

MORTGAGES | 07.04.2025

Using an independent mortgage broker like Taylor Made can make all the difference.

Buying a new home is one of the biggest financial commitments you’ll ever make, so it’s only natural to want the very best mortgage deal to go with it. But with so many options on the market, different lenders, interest rates, terms and conditions, it can quickly become overwhelming, especially given the current mortgage market. That’s where an independent mortgage broker like Taylor Made can make all the difference.

Why use a mortgage broker?

While you could approach your bank directly or browse online comparison sites, a mortgage broker offers expert guidance, access to exclusive deals, and tailored advice that takes your personal circumstances into account. At Taylor Made, we’re not tied to any one lender. That means we search the whole of the market to find the most competitive mortgage products for your needs, whether you’re a first-time buyer, moving up the property ladder, or remortgaging.

The benefits of working with a mortgage broker

  1. Expert knowledge The mortgage market is constantly changing, especially in the current climate. As experienced brokers, we keep on top of all the latest lender criteria, policy changes, and product launches. We can advise you on which lenders are most likely to accept your application, saving you time, effort, and potential disappointment.
  2. Access to exclusive rates Many lenders offer broker-only deals that aren’t available if you go direct. These exclusive products could save you a significant amount over the life of your mortgage.
  3. Personalised support A mortgage broker will take the time to understand your financial situation, goals, and preferences. We’ll explain your options clearly, help you understand the true cost of each deal, and ensure you feel confident in your decisions.
  4. Save time and stress From paperwork to lender communication, mortgage brokers such as Taylor Made will manage the entire application process on your behalf. You get peace of mind knowing that everything is handled professionally and efficiently.
  5. Ongoing mortgage advice Our support doesn’t stop once you’ve got your mortgage offer. We’ll be here for future remortgages, moving home again, or even investing in buy-to-let properties down the line.
